Car sharing is when two or more people travel together in the same car for all, or part of their journey. www.haltonjourneyshare.com is Halton's free car share database.

Is it for me?

Yes, it's for everyone. You can offer a lift, receive a lift, or share a journey to anywhere, whether it's for work or leisure. You can access the database via the web or by calling the Neighbourhood Travel Team on 0800 1953 173.

How does it work?

Every time a person registers a journey with www.haltonjourneyshare.com their details are added to a searchable database of car sharers.

When you have registered you will be able to carry out a search to find and contact other car sharers living in your area. You can register to give or receive a lift, or both. It's completely free to join and you don't even need a car.

It's flexible. By registering you are not obliged to car share and you don't have to share every day.

How do I get started?

The site is secure and your name, address and telephone number are never disclosed to possible sharers or any third party.
