Halton Borough Council (HBC) operates a project that is reinvigorating key industrial areas in the Borough (Astmoor, Halebank and Riverview), through a holistic programme that not only improves the environment, but also addresses many of the underlying issues within the businesses themselves.
The project aims to enhance the physical environment on the industrial estates and individual businesses sites, reduce and design out crime, reduce the amount of vacant units on the industrial estates, contribute to safeguarding and creating jobs, improve the environmental performance of businesses and make these areas a desirable place to do business.
The improvements are driven by business-led steering groups, which are a partnership of resident businesses, landowners, local business support organisations and HBC.
The steering groups are working to jointly agreed action plans that are aimed at addressing the local needs and priorities of the resident businesses in order to abate and reverse the recent decline in these areas.
